Privacy Policy and Personal Data Processing

By filling in the registration (order) form and ticking the box confirming that you have read this Privacy and Personal Data Processing Policy (hereinafter – the Privacy Policy), you give your consent to the processing of your personal data for the purpose of ensuring the performance of civil-law relations when booking/purchasing tickets for international passenger and cargo transportation. If you do not tick the box confirming your consent to the processing and use of your personal data but continue to actively use the website lev-bus.com.ua (hereinafter – the Website), this means that you agree to the terms of the Privacy Policy and unconditionally accept them.

Personal information collected and processed via the Website

Most operations on the Website can be performed without providing personal information. However, when you purchase/book a ticket and/or purchase other products or use other services, or register on the Website with or without the purpose of receiving services, we receive the following information from you:

• contact details (your name and surname and/or the passenger’s name and surname, contact phone number and e‑mail address);
• profile data, your username and password;
• information about the services purchased.

If necessary, we may verify certain information by asking you either (a) to upload a scanned copy of an identity document (which will be stored securely on our servers), or (b) to identify yourself in another acceptable way.

To reduce the number of errors in our database, we may verify the authenticity of users and prevent unlawful use of the system.

We also collect aggregated information about your activity on our Website (for example, the number/direction of trips, the Website’s response time to your request, etc.). Such information may be published in a public profile on our Website without indicating your personal identification data.

Depending on your purpose of using the LEV-BUS transportation service, part of the requested information is mandatory, and part is provided at your discretion. If you refuse to provide mandatory information, you will not be able to complete operations for purchasing/booking certain services. All other LEV-BUS services will remain available to you.

The number of your credit card is used exclusively by payment service providers. The payment card information required to make a payment (CVV/CVC codes are not stored or processed by the Website) is not stored or processed on the Website.

Purposes and objectives of personal data processing

We collect and use your personal information in order to provide you with services; fulfil legal obligations (including performance of the carriage contract); process your financial transactions (in terms of confirmation from the payment system of the fact of payment); send you purchased/booked tickets and other services; provide customer service to you as a user or passenger in the course of handling your requests and claims by the support service; manage your account data; send you requested information about the terms of purchasing a ticket or transportation service, etc.; inform you about LEV-BUS special offers; manage promotions in which you participate and inform you about their results; notify you about the results of claims review and/or measures taken with respect to actions that violate the terms of service provision; analyse the performance of additional services and/or features to improve the Website; process your individual requests and improve services and functionalities.

Processing, storage and protection of personal data

Processing and storage of personal data are carried out on secure servers. The personal data provided are processed and may be stored in the Personal Data Database or in a separate table of the Website Database. All employees of the LEV-BUS carrier have access to personal data.

We take all necessary technical and organisational measures in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and the Law of Ukraine “On Personal Data Protection” to prevent unauthorised access, accidental loss, destruction, alteration or unlawful dissemination of your personal data.

At the same time, given the inherent risks of the electronic environment, absolute security of data processed and stored on the Website cannot be guaranteed; however, all reasonable measures are taken to ensure that your personal data are maximally protected and processed in accordance with applicable law.

Processing and storage of personal data are not limited in time. After receipt and processing, personal data are placed in secure Website databases and paper archives, transferred to an archive or deleted.

After providing and processing personal data, the data subject has the right to request access to them, rectification of inaccurate personal data, withdrawal of consent to personal data processing or their deletion by contacting us. To provide access to personal data, we reserve the right to request additional information and certain documents to identify the person requesting access to his/her personal data.

We do not sell, exchange, lease or otherwise transfer customers’ personal data to third parties, except where such transfer is required by law or law-enforcement authorities, at the request of the data subject, or in other cases provided for in this Privacy Policy.

As we engage other parties (partners, agents, representatives, etc.) to provide passenger transportation services, they may, due to the specifics of cooperation with us, have access to personal data provided by you through the Website. In such cases we act as a data processor, while the partner, agent, representative, etc. whose services you use acts as the data controller. In this regard, you are advised to read the privacy and personal data protection policies of the parties we cooperate with, links to which may be provided on our Website.

Rights of the data subject

The rights of personal data subjects are protected by the Law of Ukraine “On Personal Data Protection” and are set out in Article 8 of the said Law.
